BYU has been receiving so much praise for how their defense shut down the #1 Oklahoma offense. And they deserved it all. They held the #1 offense in the nation to only one touchdown, and injuring the Heisman trophy winner, Sam Bradford, in the process. But... it was there defense that played the main part in their loss saturday. I am not saying that Flo St. defense was good either. There wasn't a punt from either team til the middle of the third quarter. That shows you just how crazy it was. Flo St. scored on their first six drives, and five were touchdowns.
The problem is that BYU didn't change their defensive scheme at all like they did against OK. Why? Because they had nothing to lose against OK. I think they overlooked Flo St. just a little. They just beat the #1 Oklahoma, so what could non ranked Flo St. do that OK didn't do?
I guess we can just hope that BYU will win out and maybe finish in the top ten depending on how Flo St. and OK do throughout the season.
Now that BYU and Utah lost, the only hope for a BCS buster lies with TCU and Boise St.
