BYU Blows It

I don't know if any of you saw, but BYU got slaughtered by Florida St. on saturday the 19th.   I am a die hard BYU fan, but I will be the first to say that they sure weren't ready for Flo St.
BYU has been receiving so much praise for how their defense shut down the #1 Oklahoma offense.  And they deserved it all.  They held the #1 offense in the nation to only one touchdown, and injuring the Heisman trophy winner, Sam Bradford, in the process.  But... it was there defense that played the main part in their loss saturday.  I am not saying that Flo St. defense was good either.  There wasn't a punt from either team til the middle of the third quarter.  That shows you just how crazy it was.  Flo St. scored on their first six drives, and five were touchdowns.
The problem is that BYU didn't change their defensive scheme at all like they did against OK.  Why?  Because they had nothing to lose against OK.  I think they overlooked Flo St. just a little.  They just beat the #1 Oklahoma, so what could non ranked Flo St. do that OK didn't do?
I guess we can just hope that BYU will win out and maybe finish in the top ten depending on how Flo St. and OK do throughout the season.
Now that BYU and Utah lost, the only hope for a BCS buster lies with TCU and Boise St.

Kanye and Taylor

Alright.  Who saw Kanye West embarrass Taylor Swift?  To be honest, it wasn't that big of a surprise to me.  It has been a while since Kanye has pulled off one of his pathetic, public displays.  Everybody knew another one had to be coming soon.
Did anyone hear Obama call him a "jackass"?  Supposably he said it "off the record" before an interview.  I don't know how it got leaked, but I personally think Obama is a stud for saying what he thought.
Although Kanye is a "jackass", it is still hard for me to think bad about him because he has such great music.  And second of all, I was already annoyed with Taylor's "I can't believe this happened to me.  I have always imagined this feeling, but I never thought I would ever be here" type speech.  I have never heard that line before.  It must have taken her all night to think of that.

Work At College

When I moved to Cedar City, Utah for school, the first thing I did was jump in my car and head out to find a job.  I picked up about five applications and turned them in that first day.  Throughout the next two weeks or so I probably filled out twelve or thirteen more.  I have been here three and a half weeks and still nothing.  My advice to all of you people who are going to college next year or years to come is GO EARLY!!  At least a week would be a good idea.  Don't be like me and procrastinate.  Just keep in mind that there are hundreds maybe thousands of other students fighting for the same jobs.  The earlier the better!
